Öhlins Coilovers

Öhlins coilovers for street and track cars are built around the Road & Track DFV line: a 1-way, 25-click damper with Dual Flow Valve technology that lets one knob switch a car between a comfortable commute and a stiffer track setting.

Öhlins also builds a separate TTX Pro line for dedicated racing, and both are sold through authorized performance shops rather than directly to consumers. This page compiles specs from Öhlins' own fitment pages plus owner reports where noted.

The Road & Track DFV Series

Road & Track is Öhlins' automotive coilover line for owners who drive their car on the street and occasionally take it to a track day or autocross. The DFV (Dual Flow Valve) damper uses the same flow path for both compression and rebound, which Öhlins says keeps the ride consistent instead of harsh in one direction and soft in the other. Each kit uses a single 1-way knob with 25 clicks of adjustment, and turning it clockwise firms up all four damping zones at once for a track-day setting.

Ride height is adjusted independently front and rear on the threaded damper body, with the usable range set per vehicle kit rather than being universal - Öhlins' own fitment pages list different drop windows for different cars (see fitment table below). See our guide on how to adjust coilovers for the general process.

The two lines are not interchangeable upgrades of each other - Road & Track is the street-and-occasional-track kit, while TTX Pro is built for cars that live on a track calendar. Owners cross-shopping a BRZ/FRS/GR86 or BMW E9x coilover should start with Road & Track unless the car is a dedicated race build.

Who Each Series Is For

Road & Track DFV suits an owner who wants one coilover for commuting, canyon drives, and the occasional lapping day without swapping parts between sessions. The 25-click adjuster and DFV knob give enough range to firm the car up for a track session, then back it off for the drive home. It is the series Öhlins fits to enthusiast platforms like the Honda Civic and S2000.

TTX Pro is aimed at drivers who have already moved past a street-focused setup: club racers, time-attack cars, and factory-backed Cup/Clubsport builds where the car's only job is lapping. Its separate high/low-speed circuits let a race engineer dial in specific corners of the track rather than relying on one combined click range.

Öhlins vs KW and Bilstein

Road & Track DFV sits in the same premium tier as KW's higher-end coilover lines and Bilstein's damper-based kits: all three are sold through authorized dealers, use rebuildable dampers, and are engineered per vehicle rather than sold as one generic kit. Öhlins' DFV knob and 25-click range are simpler to live with than a fully independent high/low-speed setup, which is the tradeoff for a street car that still needs to be comfortable.

For owners who want similar damper quality with more valving customization and a lower price of entry, Fortune Auto builds coilovers to order with a wider range of spring rate and valving choices per order. Öhlins' advantage is a fixed, factory-tuned setup backed by a global warranty and dealer network, which matters to owners who would rather not choose a valving spec themselves.

Installation and Adjustment Notes

Öhlins does not sell Road & Track kits direct to consumers - they go through authorized performance shops and retailers, and installation follows the same strut/shock swap most coilover kits need: spring compression on the OE assembly is not required since the kit ships as a complete unit, but front camber plates or rear adjustable arms are worth planning for on cars that get lowered toward the top of the kit's range. See our coilover installation and cost guide for typical shop time and pricing, and a coilover spanner wrench for ride height adjustments at home.

For the DFV knob, Öhlins' own documentation describes turning it clockwise to firm the damper for track use and counterclockwise to soften it for the street; owners report leaving it near the soft end for daily driving and firming it up only at the track. Re-check corner weights and alignment any time ride height is changed more than a click or two.

FAQ

What is the difference between Öhlins DFV and Road & Track coilovers?

They are the same product. DFV (Dual Flow Valve) is the damper technology used inside Öhlins' Road & Track coilover line, so "Öhlins DFV coilovers" and "Öhlins Road & Track coilovers" refer to the same kits.

Are Öhlins Road & Track coilovers good for daily driving?

Yes - the line is built for street use with occasional track days. The DFV knob and 25-click adjuster are meant to be softened for commuting and firmed up for a track session rather than set once and left.

How much do Öhlins Road & Track coilovers cost?

Öhlins does not list retail pricing on its own site - kits are priced by authorized dealers and vary by vehicle application. Check current pricing through an authorized retailer before budgeting.

Does Öhlins make coilovers for the Honda S2000?

Yes. The Road & Track DFV kit for the S2000 (AP1/AP2, 2000-2009) is part number HOS MI21S1, with 100 N/mm front and 80 N/mm rear springs and roughly 10-35mm of ride height adjustment.

What is the warranty on Öhlins coilovers?

Öhlins' Road & Track DFV kits carry a 2-year limited warranty that applies worldwide.

Should I buy Road & Track or TTX Pro?

Road & Track if the car is still driven on the street and only sees the occasional track day. TTX Pro if the car is a dedicated track or club racing build and you want separate high/low-speed compression and rebound control.
