Coilovers for Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37

A G37 coilover kit also fits the Nissan 370Z, since the Infiniti G37 (V36, 2008-2013) and 370Z (Z34, 2009-2020) share the same RWD platform and strut mounts. Godspeed, D2 Racing and Tein Street Basis start under $1,100; BC Racing and Megan Racing sit mid-range; KW V3 and Fortune Auto 510 target serious street/track builds.

G37 and 370Z Share the Same Platform

The Nissan 370Z (Z34, 2009-2020) and Infiniti G37 (V36, 2008-2013) were built on the same rear-wheel-drive chassis, so most coilover kits list both cars together under one part number. The G37 came as a coupe, sedan and convertible; the RWD coupe and sedan share the 370Z's front strut towers and rear subframe mounting points, while the G37x all-wheel-drive sedan uses a different front end that several kits in this guide, including Tein Street Basis Z and KW V3, explicitly do not cover.

Because the platform overlaps with the earlier 350Z and G35, some manufacturers reuse hardware across all four cars, while others split the kit by generation. Always confirm coupe vs. sedan and 2WD vs. AWD before ordering.

Coilover Options by Price Tier

Entry-level kits like the Godspeed MonoSS and D2 Racing RS sit near $1,000-1,150 at the time of writing and use fixed-rate springs with basic damping adjustment. The Tein Street Basis Z is height-adjustable only, with no damper adjustment, aimed at a clean daily drop.

Mid-range options such as BC Racing BR, Megan Racing EZ II and Tein Flex Z add 16-30 way damping adjustment plus independent ride-height and preload. KW V3 and Fortune Auto 510 sit at the top of the range, with rebuildable dampers and, in Fortune Auto's case, made-to-order valving for a specific car and driving style.

Expected Drop and Ride Height

KW's spec sheet lists the V3 kit's adjustment range at 20-45mm (about 0.8-1.8 in) in front and 0-45mm (0-1.8 in) in the rear, which is a reasonable reference point for how far most street-driven G37/370Z builds drop. BC Racing also sells an Extreme Low spring-and-shock package that the retailer describes as roughly 20mm shorter than its standard BR kit, for about 1 additional inch of drop.

Spring rate and how far the lower locking collar is wound down both change the final height, so treat the numbers above as a range to plan around, not a guarantee for your specific car and tire size.

Alignment, Camber and Tire Clearance

Lowering a strut-front, multi-link-rear chassis like the 370Z/G37 adds negative camber and changes toe at both ends. Front camber adjustment is limited on the stock upper mounts, so builds that go beyond a light drop commonly add adjustable front upper control arms or camber plates; the rear needs adjustable toe and camber arms to bring alignment back into a safe range once the car sits lower.

Give new coilovers a few days of driving to let the springs settle before the final alignment, since ride height can shift slightly in the first week. Wider or lower-offset wheels paired with a larger drop can also bring the tire closer to the fender liner and strut body, so check clearance at full lock and full compression if you are changing wheel fitment at the same time.

Generation Differences to Check Before Ordering

Coupe vs. sedan: Megan Racing, D2 Racing and Fortune Auto all list the G37 coupe (2008-2013) and sedan (2007-2014) as separate fitments in their catalogs, even when the part number overlaps, because the sedan's rear subframe geometry differs slightly from the coupe's. Match your body style, not just the model year, when ordering.

RWD vs. AWD: the G37x all-wheel-drive sedan uses a different front crossmember, and several kits in this guide, including Tein Street Basis Z and KW V3, are built for RWD cars only. D2 Racing is one of the few brands here that lists a specific RS kit for the G37x AWD sedan.

370Z coverage: Nissan sold the Z34 from 2009 through 2020 with no major suspension redesign, so most part numbers cover the full run. Godspeed's listing is one exception: it excludes 2007-2008 Infiniti models fitted with 4-wheel active steering and excludes convertibles, covering 370Z 2009-2018 and G37 2008-2013 RWD coupes/sedans only.

What a 1.5" drop looks like

KW's V3 kit adjusts roughly 0.8-1.8 in in front and 0-1.8 in in the rear; 1.5 in is a common middle setting for a street-driven G37 or 370Z that still clears speed bumps and driveways.

FAQ

Do Infiniti G37 and Nissan 370Z coilovers interchange?

Yes, for the RWD G37 coupe and sedan (V36) and the 370Z (Z34), since both share the same strut towers and rear subframe mounting points. Most of the brands in the fitment table above, including BC Racing, Megan Racing and D2 Racing, sell one kit that covers both cars. The G37x all-wheel-drive sedan is the exception - check the fitment notes before ordering.

Will these coilovers fit the G37x AWD sedan?

Not all of them. Tein Street Basis Z and KW V3 are built for RWD cars only. D2 Racing lists a separate RS kit specifically for the G37x AWD sedan, so check the exact part number for your drivetrain before buying.

How much will coilovers lower a 370Z or G37?

KW's V3 kit is adjustable from about 0.8 to 1.8 in in front and 0 to 1.8 in in the rear, which is a reasonable range for most street builds. The final height depends on spring rate and how far the ride-height collar is wound down, so treat any single number as a starting point.

Do I need camber arms after lowering a 370Z/G37?

Most builds that go beyond a light drop need adjustable rear camber and toe arms, and many add front upper control arms too, since the factory hardware has limited range to correct the negative camber a lower ride height introduces.

What's the cheapest coilover option for a 370Z or G37?

Godspeed MonoSS, D2 Racing RS and Tein Street Basis Z are the budget-focused kits in this guide, priced under roughly $1,100 at the time of writing. They trade damper adjustability or true-rear independent height/preload for a lower price.

Does the G37 coupe use the same coilovers as the G37 sedan?

Often the same part number, but not always. Megan Racing, D2 Racing and Fortune Auto list the coupe (2008-2013) and sedan (2007-2014) as separate fitments in their catalogs, since the sedan's rear subframe differs slightly, so match body style as well as model year.
