Coilovers for the Acura RSX and Integra

Coilovers for the Acura RSX and Integra are not universal: the 2002-2006 RSX (DC5) and the 1994-2001 Integra (DC2) each need their own kit. BC Racing, Megan Racing, Godspeed, Skunk2, and TruHart all sell generation-specific kits, with drops from about 1 to 4 inches depending on brand and series.

This page compiles fitment, drop ranges, and pricing from manufacturer catalogs and retailer listings for both chassis, plus what changes in alignment and camber after lowering.

DC5 RSX vs. DC2 Integra: which kit do you need

The Acura RSX (chassis code DC5) covers the 2002-2006 model years, including both the Base and Type S trims. The Acura Integra (chassis code DC2) covers the earlier 1994-2001 model years, including GS, GS-R, LS, and Type R. The two chassis do not share coilovers: every brand in this guide lists DC5 and DC2 as separate part numbers, so the first step is confirming which generation you have before ordering.

Base and Type S RSX models use the same DC5 chassis, so brands such as TruHart list a single StreetPlus kit (TH-H811) that covers both trims. On the Integra side, some kits exclude the Type R: TruHart's StreetPlus TH-H802 for the DC2 specifically does not fit the Type R, so Type R owners should check each brand's listing before buying.

Coilover options by generation

Across both chassis, the brands with the clearest published RSX and Integra fitment are BC Racing, Megan Racing, Godspeed, Skunk2, and TruHart. BC Racing's BR Series is sold in a standard version and an Extreme Low version for the DC5, plus a separate DC2 kit with its own rear fork design. Megan Racing offers its 32-way adjustable Street Series for the DC5 and an EZ II coilover line for the DC2. Godspeed's MAXX line covers both chassis with front camber plates included, and Skunk2's Pro-S II is sold in generation-specific part numbers for DC5 and DC2.

See the fitment table below for part numbers, drop figures, and spring rates we could verify for each kit, along with the source page for every row.

How much drop to expect

Published drop ranges vary by brand. TruHart's StreetPlus (TH-H811) for the DC5 is rated for roughly 1.5 to 4 inches of drop from factory ride height. BC Racing's Extreme Low version of the BR Series for the DC5 is built for a 2 to 3 inch drop, while the standard BR Series allows a more moderate stance with the same ride-height adjustability. Most RSX and Integra owners running these kits on the street settle around 1.5 to 2.5 inches of drop, saving the lower end of the range for cars that are lowered further for show or track use.

Alignment, camber, and tire clearance

Every full coilover kit changes ride height enough to throw off the factory alignment, so budget for an alignment appointment after install, and again after the springs settle. Most of the kits in this guide, including BC Racing, Godspeed, Skunk2, and TruHart, include adjustable front camber plates so you can dial negative camber back in after lowering. Rear camber adjustment is more limited on this platform without additional aftermarket arms, so expect some negative camber gain in the rear at lower ride heights. At the more aggressive end of each brand's drop range, check fender-to-tire clearance with your specific wheel and tire width before locking in a ride height, and see our coilover adjustment guide for how ride height and damping adjustments interact.

Choosing between street and track-oriented kits

Damping adjustability ranges from 15-way on Megan Racing's EZ II for the DC2 up to 40-way on Godspeed's MAXX line, with BC Racing's BR Series offering 30 clicks of simultaneous compression and rebound adjustment. More adjustment range generally means more time spent dialing in a setup, which matters more for track or autocross use than for a daily-driven street car. If you're installing a kit yourself for the first time, our installation and cost guide covers labor time and the coil spring compressor and spanner wrench you'll need on hand.

What a 2" drop looks like

Most street-driven RSX and Integra builds settle around 1.5 to 2.5 inches of drop. BC Racing's Extreme Low BR Series targets a 2 to 3 inch drop on the DC5, while TruHart's StreetPlus is adjustable from about 1.5 to 4 inches.

FAQ

Do Integra DC2 coilovers fit the RSX?
No. The RSX (DC5, 2002-2006) and Integra (DC2, 1994-2001) are different chassis, and every brand covered here, including BC Racing, Megan Racing, Godspeed, Skunk2, and TruHart, sells them as separate, non-interchangeable kits.
How much does an RSX drop with coilovers?
It depends on the kit. TruHart's StreetPlus for the DC5 is rated for roughly 1.5 to 4 inches of drop, while BC Racing's Extreme Low BR Series targets 2 to 3 inches. Most street builds land around 1.5 to 2.5 inches.
Do RSX Type S coilovers differ from base RSX coilovers?
No. The Base and Type S RSX share the DC5 chassis, so kits like TruHart's StreetPlus TH-H811 are listed as fitting both trims under one part number.
Will coilovers fit an Integra Type R?
Check each brand's listing. TruHart's StreetPlus TH-H802 for the DC2 specifically does not fit the Type R, while Godspeed lists a MAXX kit for the 1996-2001 Integra Type R directly.
Do I need an alignment after installing RSX or Integra coilovers?
Yes. Lowering the car changes camber and toe, so plan for an alignment right after install and a second check once the springs have settled in.
What tools do I need to install coilovers on an RSX or Integra?
Beyond basic hand tools, you'll typically need a spring compressor if the kit ships with springs uninstalled, plus a spanner wrench for the lower mount and ride-height adjustment rings.
